About the concert:
The concert - "Gems of Jaipur Gharana" will be based on highlighting the Raagas, "Gaayki" and compositions from the illustrious and rich heritage of Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana.
The Jaipur Gharana specializes in the presentation of "Jod Raagas". A Jod Raaga is a beautiful confluence of two or more raagas. The listener can enjoy the seamless interplay between the constituent Raagas. One can also experience the Jaipur Gharana "Gaayki" that is characterized by "Swachh Aakaar" singing and interesting patterns in fast paced "Taankaari".
This unique thematic concert will be concluded with a semi-classical "Thumri" presentation, which will beautifully portray the emotions of love and devotion through a short composition and its elaboration.
About the Artist:
Hiranmayee S
Hiranmayee S was born and brought up in Bangalore. She graduated in B.com and has completed her M.A(music) securing the first rank from Bharati Vidyapeeth university in Pune. She was intiated into devotional music by her mother Smt. Padma Adiga at the tender age of 4. She has trained in Hindustani classical music under Ustad Faiyaz Khan for 15 years. She has also trained under Shri Arshad Ali Khan for 5 years at ITC Sangeet Research Academy,Kolkata, as a scholar. She is currently training under Shri Omkarnath Havaldar where she's learning aspects of Kirana, Jaipur-Atrauli, Agra gharanas. Hiranmayee is a recipient of various scholarships including the "National scholarship to young artiste" for Hindustani classical vocal from Centre for Cultural Research and Training-CCRT(Govt of India), Delhi, in the year 2019, Scholarship from "Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy" in the year 2019, The prestigious NCPA-MUMBAI National scholarship for the year 2023.
She has secured more than 200 prizes in musical competitions in state level and national level, Kalashri state award from Balbhavan, Pratibhakankshi puraskar from Kote Shri Rama Seva mandali. She was the winner of "Guru Pranaam-2021" online music competition which was conducted and judged by Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty. She had secured 3 prizes in the All India Radio national level music competition in 2014 in the categories of Hindustani classical vocal, Bhajans and Thumri (light classical). She is a “B-high” grade artist of the All India Radio.
She has received “A grade” in Devotional music from the All India Radio. She has performed at various public places in Bangalore, Dharwad, Udupi, Sirsi, Sagara, Bellary, Mumbai, Miraj, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kolkata, Hyderabad.

Recently, she received second place in a national level competition organised by Dedhia music Foundation, Mumbai, which was judged by eminent artists Vid. Kaushiki Chakraborty, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar and Sri Rahul Deshpande. She has also performed at various Facebook live and online concerts which including "HCMAE", "Swar Malhar","Bijapure Harmonium Foundation", "Shri Rama Kala Vedike","Suranjan Trust","Nataraj Sangeet Vidyalaya", "Gayana Sabha, Mysuru", "Mani Krishnaswamy Academy", "Viewcy, USA" and more. She has also sung for a few kannada films including "Kannadada Kanda" " ...Re" "Mukhaputa".
Sumith S. Naik
Sumith S. Naik hails from Kochi, Kerala. He was initiated into music by his parent Shri. Sudhakar Naik & Smt. Meera. He started his initial musical training under Vidwan Naveen Pai and then continued his training under the tutelage of Dr. Udayraj Karpoor. The blessings and guidance of his Gurus have forged him to be a skilful and accomplished Tabla player. His Tabla accompaniment can be described as evocative, engaging and complementary. He has accompanied so many renowned senior musicians & promising youngsters of India. He has performed numerous Tabla solo concerts, Carnatic 'Talavadya' percussion ensembles and solo accompaniment with his Guru Dr Udayraj Karpur. He is an adept player who also plays for other genres like Ghazals, Jazz, Bhakti Sangeet, Natya Sangeet, and Sufi-Quawwalli. He has played background scores for many movie tracks like 'Mohavalayam' and 'Sthalam'. He has provided outstanding performances at highly esteemed platforms in India as well as overseas countries like UK, Switzerland & France. In 2017, he was awarded the G.S.B. Award and was conferred the title 'Laya Pratibha'.
Gaurav Gadiyar
Gaurav Gadiyar has been learning Hindustani classical music (vocal and harmonium) since 16 years. His music journey started at the age of 6 from Mangalamba Hegde and is currently learning under Pandit Venkatesh Alkod from the past 12 years. He has given concerts at the IIT Madras, Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava, Gadag Punyashrama, Bangalore International Airport and various other places like Tamil Nadu, Goa, Kerala, Hampi, Dharwad, Kundapura, Gokarna, etc. He has accompanied many senior artists like Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi, Smt. Bharti Pratap, Pandit Vijaykumar Patil, Pandit Uttam Chiguri, Pandit Upendra Bhat, Sri Shankar Shanbhogue and many more. He has accompanied his guru Pandit Venkatesh Alkod at various concerts. He has also accompanied many young upcoming artists at various concerts. He has completed the Vidwat Music examination conducted by the Government of Karnataka and has won many competitions conducted by various colleges in Bangalore.
