EVENT HAS ENDED
Kasturba Road, Bengaluru 560001
Saturday, 22nd July, 6:00 PM (IST) Mazumdar-Shaw Auditorium, First Floor, Museum of Art & Photography Join us for a live performance by Clan Bokka Phod (CBP), a Bengaluru based hip-hop collective composed of rappers, poets, music producers, and performers. Growing up on the flipside of the erstwhile Pensioner’s Paradise, entrenched in the grimy milieu of violence and urban administrative neglect of Neelasandra, Pasha Bhai and Clan Bokka Phod (CBP) turned to hip-hop as teenagers both as escape as well as with the hope to carve out a path to a more abundant future. Over the years, they’ve combined an intuitive ability to vocalise in their mother tongue Dakhni, with hard-hitting original lyrics that boldly confront social inequality in the city on Syed Awaise Pasha a.k.a Demixx Beats’ sufi-esque compositions with ease – setting themselves apart from the other mainstream artists, musicians, rappers, and content creators. This event has been curated under Thinking Cities, MAP’s public programming theme for the quarter. Through this theme, we explore and reimagine cities through the lenses of space, identity, history, memory and more.
