Event Description

Govinda – A Tale of Faith is a contemplative journey into devotion, longing, and revelation, produced by Spanda, with Artmos as Executive Producer and Aalaap as Promotions Partner, presented by Neetara Nair, a 12‑year‑old Bharatanatyam dancer from Dubai. The production explores the inner world of a young seeker who yearns to experience Govinda not merely as a presence, but as a form. As the narrative unfolds, the child’s search becomes pilgrimage, where questions slowly transform into answers.

This is not a linear retelling of legend, but an emotional unfolding. The work reveals the idea of Venkateshwara as the Kali Yuga Pratyaksha Daivam, dissolving the distance between deity and devotee. What begins as innocence matures into recognition.

Govinda unfolds in five distinct chapters: Longing, The Calling, The Realisation, The Journey, and Surrender. The narrative explores the inner world of a young seeker. What begins as innocent curiosity becomes yearning. The name “Govinda” moves from story to invocation, from invocation to experience. The search gradually turns inward, until she realises that the presence she seeks has always been responding. Each chapter transitions fluidly into the next, building emotional intensity. The arc is spiritual, but also human.

Concept, choreography, and direction are by Smt. Puja Unni, with music arrangement by Easwar Ramakrishnan and light design by Keerthi Kumar. Neetara will embark on a three‑city tour, with Govinda premiering at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC) on July 25, 2026, followed by a performance at Gokul Saraswathi Auditorium, Mumbai on July 31, 2026, and concluding at Kalakshetra, Chennai on August 2, 2026.

About Neetara Nair
Neetara Nair is a prodigiously talented 12‑year‑old Bharatanatyam dancer based in Dubai. Neetara has been a disciple of Smt. Puja Unni and within a short span of time, she has carved a distinct space for herself as one among the emerging child soloists in the field.

She has had the opportunity to perform at prestigious platforms including the Khajuraho Dance Festival, Kalarigram's Sharadotsav, Thripuranthara Festival, Anusham Arts, Sri Mookambika Cultural Trust, and Bekal Gokulam Goushala. In addition, she has presented approximately twenty full-length solo recitals across cities in India and the UAE. Her stage presence reflects disciplined training and consistent mentorship. She brings clarity of line, strong foundational technique and emotional honesty to her performance.

In Govinda, her portrayal carries both innocence and intensity, both central qualities to the spiritual arc of the production.
