Event Description

Guitar Waali Baithak is a concept that combines Indian Classical Music with the electric guitar in an intimate setting. Unlike more formal concerts held for large audiences, a baithak brings together artists and listeners in relatively close quarters. This allows for direct interaction between the artist and the audience, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art form. Baithaks are vital in preserving the essence of Indian classical music, and this modern take infuses it with the vibrant sounds of the electric guitar, revitalising the age-old tradition with contemporary flair. Supported by: Performers Aniket Gundewar Musician, Sound Engineer & Music Producer Aniket Gundewar is an Indian classical musician who plays the electric guitar with a unique style that blends Gayaki Aang and Tantkari Tantra techniques. His journey began under the guidance of violinists Pandit Atulkumar Upadhye and Shri Tejas Upadhye, who belong to the tradition of Pandit Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale and Pandit Shridhar Parsekar. Over the years, he has performed at various venues and events across India. Beyond his musical pursuits, Aniket is also a sound engineer and music producer. He has had the privilege of working with award-winning artists. Despite holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pune, his true passion lies in music. In 2022, he was given the “Rising Stars” award by UVVV, Pune. His vision is to make Indian classical music more relatable and popular among a wider audience.
