Event Description

The Guru Smruthi Music Festival is an annual celebration of Indian classical music, organised by Swara Sowrabha in honour of musical legends and their lasting contributions. Held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bengaluru, the 2025 edition features a rich blend of performances by some of the finest artists in the country.

This year’s highlight is the presentation of the “Saadhanaacharya” award to the internationally acclaimed violinist Vid. Mysore M. Nagaraj, who will also perform a violin duet at 6:15 PM with his son, Vid. Mysore N. Karthik, accompanied by Thiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam on Mridangam and Dr. Karthik on Ghatam.

The morning session begins at 10:00 AM with a Veena and Sitar jugalbandi by Dr. Suma Sudhindra and Ustad Shafique Khan, followed by the felicitation ceremony. Lunch will be served at 1:00 PM.

The evening session starts at 5:00 PM with a Santoor recital by Smt. Suma Hegde, leading into the featured violin concert at 6:15 PM.

The festival offers a day of soulful music, tradition, and cultural appreciation, bringing together connoisseurs, artists, and music lovers from all walks of life.
