Come and experience the joy of working with clay in a fun and relaxed environment. You will gain an understanding of how to form shapes through hand building without the use of tools or machines. This workshop will focus on making articles using a specific technique which is perfect for beginners. Let your creative side emerge as you roll, pinch and shape clay. You will be guided on how to turn the basic forms into a decorative or functional piece. Artist Profile: Rakshita Hiremath – The Artelier Art Studio (@the.artelier.art.studio) One could spend a lifetime working with clay and still be surprised by it which is both challenging and motivating, is what Rakshita Hiremath believes. She enjoys teaching pottery to children and grown-ups alike, thus hoping to initiate them into exploring the endless possibilities with the art. She makes pieces that are functional and decorative using wheel throwing as well as hand building techniques. Experimentation with different surface decoration methods such as slips, underglazes and wax resists adds an element of fun to her work. She is an engineer by training and an artist by choice. After working in the corporate world for a decade, a calling to explore the medium of clay led her to take up various training courses in the medium. She has been teaching since 9 years and can say with certainty that there is never a dull moment with clay.
