In a fictional town in Southern India, a theatre company called "Bottle and the Sea" is making a play about Aravan and Krishna's marriage on the 17th day of kurukshetra to save the Pandavas from losing the epic battle. As they approach the end of the play, the troupe learns that their theatre will be be down by the Trust that owns the land. What chaos does this create within the community and the theatre company? In the same troupe, one of the actors, a queer man struggles with idea of marriage in a country that is yet to legalize the concept of same sex marriage. How does the theatre company, through Aravan's story, approach this problem and create havoc in the town?
