Growing up was an absolute melting pot of music from listening to soul, Disco and Rock classics on tape to watching the likes of Louie Vega and David Morales spin on MTV “ The Grind” and to a more Cerebral/Intelligent dance music of The Prodigy. The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx in the late 90’s and early 00’s, it was only a matter of time till he shared all these experiences with a wider audience. DJ’ing across the city for a little over 9 years now, he has held a residency at a pub in Bangalore from 2014, where the music approach is an open format and to more club/dance oriented gigs at venues such as The Humming Tree, The Puma Suffle, Skydeck, Foxtrot and SOCIALS to name a few, where he caters to a more dance oreiented music such as Disco, House, UK Garage, Drum & Bass and everything in between.

SYNTHS BACK

The Synthesiser's Ode this DJ/Producer is reviving the sounds of the 80s. Because of his obsession with the synthesiser, Abhishek Chanda is also known as Synths Back. A young man from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands who was searching for jazz, funk, and soul ended up on the mainland. In 2018, he produced his single "Luna" after realising that his sounds will be a fusion of vintage synth, futuristic house music, and afro grooves. He has released remixes of songs by Fake Tattoos and Monolink, a dance version of Monolink's "Sirens" with his percussion style and synth additions. His 2021 downtempo EP ‘Kioku’ released on Krunk Kulture gained attention from Mixmag, Rolling Stone & Official Humans of Music. Having performed at the India Cocktail Week in 2022 and Gin Sling in 2020, He has been a professional DJ and producer for the past 5 years and has made a conscious effort to grow the music scene in the city by teaching other aspiring DJs and Producers, adding that he wants the "next generation to acquire the culture and aesthetics of his sound." Jitwam (The Jazz Diaries & ROYA), Horse Meat Disco (Z Records), Henry Wu, Maribou State, LIFAFA, Mo Black, FDVM, Chancha Via Circuito (ZZK Records), Thee J Johanz (Ballyhoo Records), Pablo Valentino (MCDE & Faces Records), French Toast, and many others are among the artists with whom he has shared the stage with.
