Event Description

Swar Sangam, a Kolkata based autonomous, non-profit institution that was established in 1966 under the aegis of Birla Institution for Visual & Performing Arts. Courses on performing arts are offered, which are affiliated to Prayag Sangeet Samity, Allahabad. Courses offered include Diploma in Art & Design, Diploma in Drawing & Painting, Certificate in Visual Art, Certificate in Sculpture. They are encouraged to use different mediums of Collages, Watercolours, Pen and Ink on Paper, Gouache, Tempera and recycled materials.

The institution organizes seminars, workshops and interactive demonstrations with renowned artists. Visual Arts students are encouraged to hold art exhibitions and participate in annual functions. Arrangement is made for the artist to interact with the clients directly for the sale of any work of art, without any expectations

Swar Sangam conducts short-term and 1 year diploma courses in Art and Design, Diploma in Drawing & Painting, Certificate in Visual Art and in Sculpture. In a year, the management arranges outdoor sketching in field trips to widen their horizon and to provide the experience of creativity while ensconced in natural surroundings.

(Late) Mr. B K Birla’s vision was to create an environment of excellence with a platform for the liberal arts and also enable talents to develop their imagination and creativity. The students are encouraged to widen their horizon for a mid-career change in their lives.
