About The Play
Ilhaam follows the journey of a middle class banker who begins to dissociate from his everyday life, creating a conflict between himself and society's expectations of him.
The play explores the grey area between enlightenment and alienation as the protagonist oscillates between imagination, realisation, non-acceptance and denial. Drawing references from philosophers like Friedrich Nietzsche, Raman Maharshi, Ramkrishna Pramhansa, Ilhaam tells the story of every individual's inner turmoil as they battle societal expectations and norms.
With writing from Manav Kaul, original music by Jataveda Banerjee with lyrics by Deevas Gupta, Kinaaya Collective brings to life a deeply personal experience in Ilhaam.
