Salmin Sheriff is a Bangalore-based artist. Being a performer and a storyteller, he paints stories in a frame. Stories of people he knows, or has encountered.

Travel, for him, is an inspiration. His style is realism and abstract.

His subjects are also patriarchy, gender issues and current socio-political events.

He uses vibrant colours to bring excitement and hope to his stories.

Fauvism, if you may call it. The colours also set the mood of his paintings.

His medium is mostly oils on canvas because his process is organic and always evolving and there is scope for making changes.

Salmin is also a playwright, theatre director and actor.
