Ghalib is not only an Urdu poet but has emerged as a global icon in the field of literature. His nuances and layerings in the Ghazal are unparalleled and unprecedented. Amit Joshi will talk about Ghalib from his own perspective and understanding. This event will try to decode Ghalib for an audience who is both interested and fascinated by this genius.
About the Speaker: Amit Joshi is from Lucknow, the city of adab and nafasat. He has been a literature enthusiast since long and has been following Urdu literature for almost a decade now. After completing his bachelors and masters in Chemistry from Lucknow University he has moved to Bangalore for his Doctorate in Molecular Spectroscopy from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science. At IISc, he has confounded the Art and Literature club which has been fully functional for over 5 years now. Amit Joshi has performed all over Bangalore in multiple literary gatherings and art festivals. Ghalib and Mir are two Urdu poets who have influenced him the most and he has been a constant disciple of their work.
