Event Description

By day, Jean-Marc Dépierre serves as the director of the Alliance Française of Bangalore. By night, he transforms into Jim Sonar, a wayfairing musician whose travels span three decades and eight countries—from France and Denmark to Africa and New Zealand. He has founded over half a dozen bands, fusing rock, folk, blues, bluegrass, and metal into fizzy musical cocktails. 

Fresh off an India tour with his France-based band, The SonarMen, Jim will be debuting a collection of original material developed over two years. His performance at The Blue Room will feature original compositions and covers of U2, Peter Gabriel, Iron Maiden, Eurythmics and traditional French chanson, all reimagined in folk-rock grooves

Jim is joined by three eminent Bangalore Troubadours—Bruce Lee Mani (Thermal and a Quarter, Kayaka), Richard Andrew (Moksha All-Stars) and percussionist, Sumukh Ravishankar
