EVENT HAS ENDED
7 4th Main Rd, Stage 2, Domlur 560071
A presentation and discussion by Jai Asundi.
Bangalore has the potential to become the first truly “solar city” in India, if not the world! 'Sustainable Energy for All' is an essential part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This session will introduce an initiative by Centre for the Study of Science Technology and Policy (CSTEP) that has mapped the solar energy potential of Bangalore to help jumpstart the process of large-scale roof top photovoltaic systems (RTPV) adoption in the city.
This study is the first step to aid residents, planners and policymakers to make decisions on harnessing solar energy from their rooftops of their homes, offices and public buildings. This presentation will cover technical aspects associated with installing RTPV systems and explain some of the regulations and schemes currently in place and new policy directions that will facilitate a transition to sustainable forms of energy.
In collaboration with Centre for the Study of Science Technology and Policy (CSTEP)
