Event Description

Kaaya is a devised theatre performance inspired by the vachanas of the 12th-century feminist poet Akkamahadevi. The work brings together text, movement, and music to create visual poetry. The performers use their bodies and voice to create landscapes that bring to life the spiritual, political, and philosophical questions that Akkamahadevi articulated through her vachanas.
