Is there wisdom one acquires and freedom one discovers in pursuing art forms such as Kathak?

At this Saturday’s RS Connect, come and discover how the Indian classical dance form Kathak helps to mirror joy and abandon in one’s personal experiences - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In this hour-long lecture demonstration, Kathak dancers Akruti Shah, Madhushree Kumar and Anusha Naresh from Nrityanidhi, a 17-year-old Kathak institute, will unveil the nuances of this Indian classical dance form, and share the reflections of the art form on various aspects of life itself.

Akruti Shah, who will lead the lecture, is one of the first graduates of ‘Nrityanidhi ~ Spiritual Exuberance through Dance’ — a 17 year old Kathak Institute founded by Shoma Kaikini-Singh. She is now the coordinator and administrator of the institute, after having dedicated almost two decades to the art form.  

She will be accompanied by Madhushree Kumar and Anusha Naresh, Nrityanidhi shishyas and troupe members, who will bring the lecture alive through creative expression and dance.
