Event Description

Kayaka (work) is an ensemble comprising pre-eminent names from Bangalore’s music scene, across genres, styles and language. Led by M D Pallavi and Bruce Lee Mani (from Thermal And A Quarter), Kayaka plays with powerful poetry and song from thousand-year Indian traditions, to bring them into a contemporary frame. Global influences meet Indian classical and folk forms; syncopated rhythms bring complexity – but with soul; and improvised explorations sit nicely with tight arrangements. That is Kayaka. That is our work. Our love. And we want to share it with you.
