Experience how mural artists meditate on these ‘shlokas’ and translate their gist into lines and shapes onto the canvas. 7 Days workshop to get to know Kerala Mural Painting, a fading heritage art form. You don't have to be an artist. If you are keen to learn something timeless and beautiful, and patient enough to follow instructions, you can enjoy the workshop immensely. Many call it a way of meditating with lines and colours. In our previous workshops, we have had software engineers, air hostesses, architecture students, HR heads, homemakers, and bakers. You have never touched a paintbrush before? We have had many of you too in our workshops. If you still doubt your ability to draw, talk to us! We can tell you a few secret skills you have! What is Kerala Mural Art? (For the newcomers) Kerala Mural Painting is a heritage art form for storytelling. The artist takes a shloka, a poem, or a story situation and translates the gist into lines and shapes onto the wall or a canvas.
