In an engaging conversation, Sanjiv Sarin discusses his recently launched book ‘The Other Side of the Mountain’ with accomplished writer and corporate leader Harish Bhat, reflecting on his journey into spiritual learning and its impact on his corporate life.
The book has received extremely positive reviews from business leaders, media and readers.
Sanjiv worked in the corporate world for over forty years in various leadership roles across the globe, retiring as CEO and MD of Tata Coffee. Earlier he had worked across the globe with Cadbury. In this time, he encountered many challenges and learned many life lessons. But his biggest learning came when he embarked on a spiritual path that took him deep into The Art of Living as a practitioner and then as a Teacher.
A life-changing moment occurred with the terrorist attack at the Taj Mahal Hotel on 26/11, when he was staying there on a business trip. After his rescue, Sanjiv understood even more clearly the value of mindful living, meditation, and a calm mind. He moved from being a practitioner and Teacher to a life of introspection and self-application of all the learnings. He experienced first-hand the value of being a spiritual practitioner while remaining firmly in the world of business.
The Other Side of the Mountain chronicles Sanjiv’s learnings in spirituality and how he has used them successfully in leadership situations. Full of wisdom, humour and self-realisation, this book is for anyone trying to make sense of the modern competitive world and their role in it. As one of the readers said “….A thought provoking integration of mind and heart, which should be the new art of Management….”
The book will be launched and introduced by Bhaskar Bhat. Sanjiv will be in conversation with Harish Bhat. A Q&A with the audience will follow.
