Event Description

Often when we think of places and people that do not get enough representation and visibility, we imagine these to be a unit – undivided, clean, and held together by the singular experience of being a ‘marginalised’ community. This is usually untrue. Within these groups lies divides borne of differences in ethnicity, language, or simply, a sense of belonging. Investigating their diverse nature can help bring us a step closer to understanding the complexities of identity politics. Join us for a session of live poetry readings and conversation between poets that think and speak from these spaces of multiplicity and plurality. In this session, we tune into the voices of poets Easterine Kire, Noor Hindi, and Shivanee Ramlochan, followed by a conversation moderated by Sanam Sheriff
