Event Description

In this new production, acclaimed Kuchipudi dancer Yamini Kalluri joins forces with a pianist and violinist to explore an intersection of music and movement that spans traditions. Drawing from Western classical repertoire, the performance reimagines iconic ballet scores—including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Rodeo, and Petrushka—through Yamini’s distinctive choreographic lens, shaped by both Indian classical and contemporary dance traditions.

Complementing these balletic works are lyrical miniatures by Brahms, Kreisler, Rachmaninoff, and Grieg. The performance offers a unique entry point into both Indian and Western classical forms, bringing together three accomplished artists in a dialogue between classical traditions, blending distinct styles and histories.

Yamini will be joined by violinist Gulzara Shakir and pianist Neville Bharucha.
