This work in chaste Malayalam is based on Mahakavi Vallathol Menon’s lyrical poem – Magdalana Mariam. The simple narrative introduces the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, in the town of Galillee. In the same town lives Mariam, a beautiful woman who having risen from poverty accumulates wealth by succumbing to ego and temptation. One night, she is jolted to a realization that she has long lived a life of spiritual hollowness. Her encounter with Christ and transformation through redemption serve as a background for this exquisite poetry.
