Many Moons : Bindhumalini Tracing the contours of a call, a desire and memories... Musical Installation and Live Performance with Gurupriya Atreya and Abhaydev Praful. ‘Many Moons’ is a show inspired from different melodies, songs and calls from different parts of the world. The show follows how one thread of notes, weave many fabrics of music, of different textures and weight. What happens if you keep visiting a core idea again and again across days and different states of wakefulness ? Join Bindhumalini as she shares her explorations. She is joined by Abhaydev Praful and Gurupriya Atreya.

About the Artists:

Bindhumalini

Bindhumalini Narayanaswamy is a singer, and composer. Bindhu constantly strives to explore avenues outside of her strict classical roots to play with the pure soul-stirring power that music has. She has journeyed to various hamlets, villages, cities and countries sharing the songs and poems of various mystic saints of India. She directed music for feature and documentary films in Tamil, Kannada and other languages. She won the National Award and Filmfare Award as Best Singer for the songs she created and sang in the film Nathicharami Bindhumalini has been expanding her craft, community and repertoire through multidisciplinary collaborations.

Gurupriya Atreya

Gurupriya Atreya is a singer, composer, voice artist and arts curator. Trained in Indian classical music since her childhood, she is currently a disciple of Ustad Faiyaz Khan. Staying rooted in the classical & semi-classical music traditions, she lends her voice to singing playback for films, commercial jingles & voiceovers. As a composer, educator and facilitator Gurupriya has worked with various dance companies, schools and productions. Through her projects such as The Living Room Kutcheri, Sing a Lullaby and the Arts Practitioner certificate programme, she dreams of making a difference by bringing large groups of people, communities & cultures together, to form an inclusive society at large.

Abhaydev Praful

Abhaydev Praful is a music composer, Teacher, and a Multi-instrumentalist who makes music which could be termed as neoclassical and minimalist. He is trained in classical guitar, cello, mridangam, and sopana sangeetham. Currently, he is composing , performing and working on pieces for the Solo Classical guitar
