Event Description
First Things First is the debut album of Many Things, which was recorded at River Records Studios in Chennai between the 11th and the 13th of April 2023.
The band took an old-school approach to the recording process. The entire album was recorded by the band playing together in the same room live with absolutely no overdubs or individual tracking.
Many Things is a cross-genre instrumental trio from Chennai, India consisting of Maarten Visser on saxophone, Aravind Murali on bass, and Manukrishnan on drums. They combine a variety of musical styles such as jazz, rock, classical and funk and delicately tread the fine line between composition and improvisation. Their innovative music takes the listener on a journey, with unexpected twists and turns. Many Things has played at various venues across the country.
