Sahitya Ramkumar’s hour-and-a-half-long Bharatanatyam repertoire titled Mārgam was premiered to a full house in Hyderabad on 5th February, 2023. The term "मम" translates to "my," while "Mārgam" refers to the traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire, signifying a journey or path—this being Sahitya’s personal journey. It embodies a tale of self-love and extensive learning. "मम Mārgam" comprises five distinct pieces, each choreographed by Sahitya herself with profound affection and dedication. Each segment introduces diverse languages, flavors, and emotions to the stage, featuring meticulously crafted choreographies that interpret and reinterpret exquisite poetic compositions inspired by the words of various scholars. The choreographies also have been laced with some of the Natyasastra movements that make them interesting. The performance assures a wide spectrum of emotions, ranging from a poignant lullaby to a spirited foot-tapping abhang.
