Martin Adam Friedman, known to fans around the world as Marty Friedman, is an American guitarist celebrated for his pioneering work in heavy metal and his distinctive melodic style. He rose to international fame as the lead guitarist of Megadeth from 1990 to 2000, a decade that saw the band release some of its most iconic albums, including Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction. Before joining Megadeth, Friedman made his mark in the metal world as one half of the virtuosic guitar duo Cacophony alongside Jason Becker between 1986 and 1989, earning a reputation for his technical brilliance and neo-classical flair.

Over the years, Friedman has released 13 solo albums, exploring everything from metal and rock to fusion and experimental sounds, and continues to tour internationally. Since 2003, he has made Tokyo his home, where his career took an exciting turn into Japanese entertainment. Friedman has become a familiar face on Japanese television, appearing on more than 700 shows, including Rock Fujiyama, Hebimeta-san, Kōhaku Uta Gassen, and Jukebox English.

His discography spans multiple major record labels, including Avex Trax, Universal, EMI, Prosthetic Records, and Shrapnel Records, underscoring a career that bridges cultures and continually redefines the boundaries of guitar music.
