A MEDLEY OF THEMES, STYLES & EMOTIONS
Medley is the title of a group exhibition featuring the works of three artists - Atoshi Shyam, KT Arun and Deepak Joshi. The title reflects the varied types of art that will be displayed at the exhibition. It is mostly a happy pot pourri, a joyful medley of different themes, colours, styles, medium and emotions. The three artists, who happen to be friends, have starkly different styles. Atoshi for example, works with vivid colours and intricate, painstakingly created details, Arun KT (often called The Artist of Joy) has bold, happy colours that leap out of the painting and Deepak Joshi prefers to work largely with pen on paper in work characterised by intricate details and an occasional dash of colour.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Atoshi Shyam is a trained classical and contemporary dancer. A self-taught artist, she learnt to translate a painting into a flow of movements and studied hues as a determinant of human behaviour. Atoshi's paintings travel beyond their original meaning. Her vibrant play of colours on the canvas with intricate detail is her patented style of paintings. Atoshi has been displaying her work in solo and group exhibitions since 2010. This year, Navaras (the nine emotions), Butterflies, and Tree of life are the themes. All the paintings have vibrant colours with her intricate brush strokes and emotions flying high as her signature style.
KT Arun, did his Bachelors in Chemistry then forayed into advertising. He has been a Creative Director in leading advertising agencies like McCann Erickson, Lowe and Ogilvy. He is also the owner of an artisanal beer brand in Australia called Gooroo (do Google it). Arun has held art exhibitions in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Qatar. His exuberant colours and happy themes have earned him the title 'The Artist of Joy'.
Deepak Joshi has had a chequered life. He has previously been a waiter in a beach shack in Goa, a mechanic, a helper in a tiny biscuit factory, a clerk in a ration depot, a hawker in a beach and a swami in the Himalayas. He has last been a Creative Director in Ogilvy. Joshi mostly works on pen on paper. This exhibition has him exploring famous writers as a theme.
The Art works are priced at Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand) onwards
