This evening is an immersive journey through the songs, stories and memories that defined one of Indian cinema’s most graceful and enduring voices.
Interwoven with live performances are engaging anecdotes, little-known facts and fascinating insights into the people, collaborations and moments that shaped her career. Thoughtfully curated by Sandhya S Kumar, the programme blends scholarship with nostalgia, offering audiences an opportunity to rediscover Suman Kalyanpur’s timeless contribution to Indian film music.

Prateek is a researcher with a deep interest in India’s cultural history, and Madhuvanti, trained in Hindustani classical music, is an accomplished music researcher. Together, they bring scholarship, authenticity, and storytelling to the lives and works of legendary singers, composers, and lyricists.
Samanvitha Sharma

Samanvitha Sharma is a versatile performer: playback singer, dancer, anchor, music curator, composer, and TEDx Youth speaker who has presented over 3,000 multilingual concerts across India, the USA, Canada, Switzerland, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. She has shared the stage with legends including Asha Bhosle, Waheeda Rehman, Hema Malini, Helen, Khayyam, Sadhana Sargam, and Zeenat Aman. Her honours include the International Golden Clef Award, the FICCI Women Achiever Award, and the KIMA Award for Best Playback Singer.
Govind Kurnool

Govind Kurnool first came into the limelight as a child prodigy on Zee Sa Re Ga Ma and later as a Voice of Bangalore finalist. A playback singer in Kannada cinema, he has performed over 1,500 concerts across India and internationally, including the USA, Muscat, and Thailand. He has shared the stage with icons such as Asha Bhosle, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, and Hema Malini. Renowned for expressive ghazal singing, he is admired for performances combining technical finesse with emotional depth.
Srinivas Achar

D. Srinivas Achar, one of Bengaluru’s most respected guitarists and music arrangers, has over three decades of experience in recordings and live concerts. He has performed with and accompanied legendary composers and singers including Rajan–Nagendra, Hamsalekha, C. Ashwath, and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. Having contributed to more than 3,000 recordings, he is widely recognised for his versatility across film, devotional, light, and fusion music, and remains among the most sought-after accompanists in the industry.
