Most of you might already know who she is, one of the most spectacular actresses to appear on the silver screen! An actress who could emote in a way that would make the audience sympathize with any character she moulded herself into. With path-breaking movies like Sharapanjara, Bayalu Dari, Gejje Pooje to name a very few, she carved a niche for herself that is till date not achieved by any other actress in the Indian Cinema. She received a lot of accolades throughout her career. She was known to overshadow all her male counterparts too! She even flew down to Russia to represent Kannada cinema!

Besides being one of the finest actresses on screen, Kalpana was known for her sarees rich in zari or completely modern in their outlook, uniquely designed blouses, exquisite jewellery and flamboyant hairdos!

Her life was as dramatic and tragic as the roles she played on screen, Indian Cinema lost this star very young at the age of 36.
