NAMMA JAATRE – 2 at Vidhana Soudha
Presented by the Department of Kannada and Culture in collaboration with Kadambari
Saturday, November 30, 2024 – 5 PM

The Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, in partnership with Kadambari, an arts and crafts NGO led by Chandra Jain, will host the second edition of Namma Jaatre on November 30, 2024, at Vidhana Soudha. This event marks the inauguration of the 16-day Bengaluru Habba, celebrating the city’s heritage and culture.

Event Highlights:

• Grand Inauguration:
  The Honourable Chief Minister, Sri Siddaramaiah, will inaugurate the event and flag off the Bhavya Meravanige procession at 5 PM.

• Procession (Bhavya Meravanige):
  Featuring over 500 dancers, flower chariots, traditional bullock carts, and performances honoring Karnataka’s literary and cultural heritage, the procession will travel from Vidhana Soudha to MG Road Boulevard. Eight flower chariots, representing Karnataka’s Jnanpith Awardees, will be a key highlight.

• Cultural Performances:
  Traditional dance, music, and folk art forms such as dollu kunitha and kamsale will showcase Karnataka’s rich cultural diversity.

This event serves as an introduction to Bengaluru’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. Join on November 30, 2024, to kick off the Bengaluru Habba and celebrate the spirit of the city.
