ColorAshram in collaboration with Bangalore Creative Circus is pleased to announce, the first ever of its kind and scale in the country, a Natural Color Festival!  

The synthetic colors used at enormous scales across various industrial processes are the second biggest polluters of water bodies world over. This is especially true for the textile and garment industries. There is a wake-up call from multiple quarters across the globe to switch to a safe, environment-friendly, and sustainable alternative. Natural colors, derived from plant, animal, and mineral sources, are the non-toxic, biodegradable, and sustainable solutions that we all need.    

The Natural Color Festival, in alignment with the United Nations SDG 12, seeks to create awareness and spark conversation around the potential of natural colors for lifestyle and systems change. Equally, it is a celebration of the beauty and magic of natural colors!   

About the organisers: ColorAshram Foundation, the co-initiator, and curator of this Festival, is an educational & training platform, specializing in scalable and standardized natural dye applications for the last two decades. Bangalore Creative Circus, the co-initiator and venue for the Festival, is an Urban Living Lab committed to inspiring and enabling sustainable systems, and a regenerative culture of living. The Association of Designers of India is the community partner of the Festival.  

Festival details -  20 Jan, 10am to 5pm - a day exclusively for students and educational institutions, featuring activities and workshops   21 and 22 Jan, 11am to 8pm - Open to all. Featuring market stalls where 20 brands from across the country will showcase naturally dyed clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and art; 6 activity stations for block printing, painting on fabric and paper, yarn spinning, and tie-dye (you can even bring your own clothes to dye!); curated art installations and film screenings; panel discussion; live music and fire performances; fashion show and poetry recitals; and farm to table food.
