Event Description

The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse performances, is thrilled to announce the expansion of its celebrated NCPA@thePark series to Bangalore. After the resounding success of previous editions, NCPA is excited to bring its world-class live performances to the iconic Freedom Park in Bangalore on 30th and 31st March 2024.

NCPA@thePark was launched three years ago as an initiative to rejuvenate live performances after the pandemic-induced lockdowns. This unique collaboration with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) aimed to celebrate the return of live entertainment to physical spaces, marking a significant milestone for the cultural landscape.

The upcoming event in Bangalore features a range of performances including dance, international music, western classical music, spoken word, and more. Attendees can look forward to captivating performances by renowned artists from across India and beyond.

The festivities kick off on the evening of 30th March with a spectacular performance by the Symphony Orchestra of India, the country's first and only professional orchestra. Audiences will be treated to enchanting compositions by Mozart, Johann Strauss, and other iconic composers, along with popular tunes that resonate with listeners of all ages. Following this, UnErase Poetry will take the stage with a captivating blend of spoken word and music, weaving tales of love, hope, and life through their unique artistry.

On 31st March, the renowned Srjan dance troupe, led by Ratikant Mohapatra, will present 'Deesha - Navigating the journey of forging new horizons,' a mesmerizing neo-classical Odissi performance that promises to transport audiences into a realm of cultural richness and artistic expression. The weekend culminates with an electrifying set by Darren Das & The Sixth Sense, offering a dynamic fusion of pop, retro, rock n roll, and classic rock that is sure to have everyone grooving to the beat.
