'Nrutya beru' is a one-of-its kind book on folk dance. It helps us comprehensively understand the evolution of dance movements. The book is an eye opener to the intrinsic value and cultural links they hold. Between conversations with visual aids, dancers will demonstrate movement analysis and choreography patterns that helped this study. Followed by a question and answer session.
Synopsis
Nrutya Beru is an analogy that draws parallels between the dances between the dances from across the globe, as mentioned in “World History of The Dance” by Curt Sachs, and Karnataka’s folk dances. The research-centred book captures the analysis and documentation process that provides a deeper understanding of the evolution of the dance movement itself. The traits discussed here broaden the spectrum of intrinsic values of folk dances. The book also encloses ‘The Folk Dance Methodology” - an elaborate documentation tool that gives us a comprehensive outlook on folk dances. The book provides a deep insight into several folk dances, validating their role as crucial cultural legacies with implied symbolic intent and purpose.
