Event Description

On a Lucid Day, My Name is Vinod Rao is a moving English play that explores the fading boundaries of memory and identity. Written and directed by Dr. G.K. Jayaram, it captures the tender, painful, and often humorous moments of living with dementia — both for the patient and the family learning to cope and carry on.

The story follows an 82-year-old man in Stage 2.5 Dementia — sometimes lucid, sometimes lost — offering a heartfelt glimpse into what it means to remember, forget, and still love. Balancing emotion and reflection, the play invites audiences to think, laugh, and relate to the fragility of memory and the strength of compassion.

Featuring M.K. Sridhar, Kesari Prasad, Dr. Kalpana Udaykumar, Suma Mahesh Chandra, and Sudha Prasad, the performances are natural and deeply affecting. Under Dr. Jayaram’s direction, the narrative blends realism and poetry to portray the emotional truth of aging and caregiving.
