Event Description

Pookalam is an intricate and colourful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor. The tradition of decorating Pookalam is extremely popular in Kerala and is followed as a ritual in every household during ten-day-long Onam celebrations. In the spirit of Onam this August, come take part in this riveting Pookalam-making Competition!

How to take part and rules:

1. Purchase an entry ticket (only ten slots available!)

2. Have a Pookalam design ready to draw on the spot.

3. The competition will take place in two stages: Stage 1: Drawing out and submitting an original Pookalam design. There will be a 30-minute time limit to complete the design and submit it for judging. The designs will be judged, and only the top three designs will make it to Stage 2. Stage 2: The top three participants selected for this round, will be given an hour's time to lay out and decorate their designs in the given space for this event. Only one hour will be provided for the participants, post which, the best design will win a prize from our Cafe.

Note: Extra points will be given for sustainability. Participants are requested to bring their own material for this competition. Participants are requested to use fresh flowers, and organic, non-staining colours.
