The National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru, presents One Mother, Many Mother Tongues, an international exhibition exploring representations of motherhood across 4,500 years of history.
From Harappan and ancient Indian sculptures to Renaissance Italy, the exhibition brings together works including Mother and Child from Harappa, the Goat-headed Mother Goddess, Indrani and Sandro Botticelli’s Madonna and Child, revealing how cultures across time have interpreted one of humanity’s most universal ideas.
