Dave is single. He’s stood at the bar. Eurydice is a tree nymph. And Bruce Springsteen is on the juke box. A tale of impossible, death-defying love told through hair raising spoken word and soaring acoustic soul music. Wright&Grainger weave a world of dive bars, side streets and ancient gods.
Since its creation in 2016, ORPHEUS has played over 500 shows in the UK and internationally – in festivals, cafes, gardens, railways arches, bars, tents, churches, yoga studios, boats, record shops, breweries, loft apartments and very occasionally, a theatre. It’s won multiple awards including Best Theatre (Fringeworld) 2018 Best Music (Sydney Fringe) 2019 Beyond Words (Dunedin Fringe) 2019 Best Theatre (Adelaide Fringe) 2023.

Wright&Grainger are two internationally award winning theatre makers, musicians, storytellers and old friends from the fields and lanes of rural North Yorkshire, UK. They have been playing gigs together since they were 14. More recently their wild retellings of ancient myths have taken them around the world. ORPHEUS has played over 600 shows. THE GODS THE GODS THE GODS has played at Sydney Opera House. HELIOS is currently touring on two sides of the world. Their critically acclaimed stories are wound from music and spoken word.

Alexander Wright
Playwright
Alexander Wright is a playwright and theatre maker based in rural North Yorkshire, UK. He is half of the internationally award winning Wright&Grainger with his dear pal, Phil. They have toured across the UK, Australia, New Zealand multiple times as well taking shows to Bali, New York and Europe. He is also the adapter and director of the immersive production of The Great Gatsby, the UK’s longest running immersive show, which also transferred internationally including Off Broadway. He lives in an old water mill at the of a small village.
Phil Clive Grainger
Songwriter
Phil Clive Grainger is a songwriter and performer based in North Yorkshire, UK. He is one half of the internationally acclaimed duo, Wright&Grainger, who have toured extensively round the world, for the past 8 years. Grainger’s knack for honest and emotive songwriting, along with Wright’s words and storytelling, have earnt them many awards and a following across two hemispheres. He also led on the music for the immersive GREAT GATSBY, which ran on London’s west end for a few years, as well as an off broadway transfer in 2023.Grainger has embarked on a solo music adventure under his own name, taking in influences from The Streets, Bon Iver, Hozier, and Nizlopi. With recent support slots with WHEN CHAI MET TOAST in the UK, and his first Radio Plays, he’s excited about the next years
Jinal Shah
Executive Producer
Jinal Shah has served as a Production and Stage Manager for English language plays in Mumbai, India, for over ten years. She has collaborated with respected production houses such as Ace Productions, Qtp Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Rage Productions, and Akvarious Productions. Her work encompasses a variety of productions, ranging from classics like “Sound of Music” to contemporary shows like “Sing India Sing” and “12 Angry Jurors.” Jinal has also contributed to international projects like “Gates to India Song,” featured in Bonjour India Festival. Additionally, she assisted an Italian director Danielle Bartolini in staging “Stranger” for Thespo, a youth theatre community. Her dedication and expertise has made her an invaluable asset to the theatre community in Mumbai.
Ninad Samaddar

Ninad Samaddar is a story seller based in India. He is the founder and Artistic director of The Urban Theatre Project, Kolkata and is also a board member to award-winning theatre charity, Flute Theatre, UK. He has been involved in various capacities in several national and international live theatre tours and shows.
