Rahul Antony Thomas will be in conversation with Sandeep Menon about his latest book Out of the Blue: Bengaluru FC’s 10-year Odyssey.

About the book: 

Out of the Blue: Bengaluru FC's 10-year Odyssey charts the story of a club that shook up the Indian footballing scene and became its biggest talking point. Set in Bengaluru, the club revitalised the game's ecosystem by tapping into the rich vein of the existing sporting culture and tradition and catching the eye of the urban youth. In a journey filled with trophies and heartbreaks, BFC has become a fan favourite and one of the Garden City's many beating hearts.

About the author:

Sandeep Menon is an automobile engineer-turned-journalist who has worked for multiple eminent newspapers during his decade-long stint as a sports correspondent. He is noted for his coverage of sports in India and nuanced commentaries, especially on Indian football which have also found an audience through the Injury Time podcast, co-created by Sandeep and Naveen Peter. 

Currently, he is an Senior Editorial Manager at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, helping with outreach, and also teaches sports and journalism courses as a visiting faculty at various institutes. He is also working on his second manuscript related to football in the country. He lives with his wife Anchitha Krishna in Bengaluru.
