Drawing on his expertise in plant taxonomy and forest ecology, Dr Savinaya will offer fresh perspectives on the relationships between art, environment, and the many ways landscapes hold memory, history, and life.
Dr. Savinaya M S
Dr. Savinaya M S is a distinguished Botanist, Researcher and Nature educator with a rich background in Plant taxonomy and Forest ecology. He earned his PhD for his work on Sacred grooves of Sharavathi river basin from Kuvempu University. Currently, he holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru. He also served as a Research Scientist at the Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute, Government of Karnataka. His contribution to Botanical Science includes the discovery of a new plant species, Strobilanthes sharavathiensis, recently (2025) from the Shola grasslands of the Sharavathi river basin.
