Event Description

Parekh & Singh shall take to the stage once more, joined by their band of multi-talented multi-instrumentalists. The shows will be designed to feel like a perfect cocktail based on songs about love, spiked with a sharp dose of improvisation and finished with a cloud of dreamy nostalgia. Expect new versions of old songs as well as some special unreleased music from the band as they tour the cities, country, and coasts of India.

Parekh & Singh are a duo from Kolkata, India. Nischay Parekh sings, and plays guitar, and keyboards; Jivraj Singh plays drums, percussion, and electronics; and both enjoy computation of various kinds. The music they make is elastic. Their songs oscillate nimbly between a plethora of genres and influences. - ‘Ocean’ was their debut album – glowing tracks of cosmic pop that shimmered like a tropical sunset. While many influences – from Woody Allen to dusty Americana – could be detected across the album’s nine tracks, Ocean was widely considered to have been a fresh new sound in Indian music. If their debut conjured a lush landscape populated by magical creatures, the follow-up ‘Science City’ saw the sharp-suited star-gazers materializing in another dimension – a retro-future world of scientists, quantum mechanics, and aerodynamics.

Parekh & Singh’s easy way with each other, and the dreamy languor that pervades their music, belies the dedication of two talented musicians. From being hailed as the ‘pop-princes at the forefront of India’s new wave’ to garnering millions of views and impressions on their music videos; Parekh & Singh are always testing the limits of their creativity and craft.
