A workshop on how to study, reflect, give, and use constructive feedback as an effective tool in the art of creating, enabling and supporting the performance making process. This workshop is for artists, writers and creators interested in the performing arts. Ages 18+. A total of 16 participants will be selected on a first come first served basis. As people who work in the performing arts, we all need it, even though we might hate and resist it. The truth is that we can’t make our work better without it, we’re talking about feedback. Giving constructive and helpful feedback is an art form that has been widely disregarded. Power, subjectivity and opinions often get in the way of useful feedback. Yet, we cannot develop our work without an audience and without other perspectives. Feedback done right can be loving, constructive, helpful, joyful, fast and effective. In this workshop we will use a short piece of unfinished performance work for a tightly structured feedback process developed by DAS THEATRE (Amsterdam University of The Arts). This workshop will let you participate in the feedback session, study and reflect on the method, and use constructive feedback as an effective tool in the art of creating, enabling and supporting the performance making process. This workshop session is for performers, creators, writers and journalists and others interested in the performing arts.
