Event Description

Centred on partnering, play, and humour, in this workshop participants will explore how to observe, listen and respond to the bodies all around.

The class opens with floor work rooted in the cranio-sacral connection and the body’s spiral, moving instinctively and fluidly. Participants explore coordination and movement quality before the work evolves into partnering: exploring gravity, counterweight, off-axis balance and sensory listening through touch. It is a practice built on trust, joy and calculated risk; balancing between falling and rising, letting gravity move through the body.

The session is led by Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo, both pedagogues trained at the National Dance Centre of Lyon. They have taught across France, Italy, Poland, China and beyond, and created Falling Superstars for CODARTS’ Dance Teacher Bachelor programme in 2024.

Please Note: The workshop is intended for Intermediate level practitioners. Though open to all ages, participants are expected to be in good physical health with no particular physical fragilities. The session has a limited capacity of 20 participants.
