Pockets of Resistance is a body of work that reflects on the small, resilient spaces of nature that persist within urban environments—terrace gardens, roadside plants, window-sill pots, and unexpected patches of green that soften the hard edges of the city.
Rendered in layered oil paint, the works present deconstructed flowers, branches, and foliage that twist, merge, and shift in form, resisting neat definition. Rather than depicting nature as orderly or decorative, the paintings evoke its unruly vitality and quiet defiance within tightly built landscapes.
Through textured, near-surreal compositions, the series explores themes of care, attention, and coexistence, suggesting that even the smallest acts of tending to nature can become gestures of resistance within the modern city.
Inauguration on 20th March at 6pm by Chief Guest Ramjee Chandran
