The Pravaha Dance Festival, presented by the Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance, will take place on April 12 at ADA Ranga Mandira, Bengaluru, at 6 PM. Dedicated to the legacy of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, the festival honors his contributions to Odissi through performances that reflect his artistic vision and influence.
The festival features:
Ardhanarishvara: A duet by Surajit and Srijita, disciples of Smt. Sharmila Mukherjee, depicting the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies through a choreography by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.
Odissi Performance by Nrityagram Ensemble: A presentation by the acclaimed ensemble, known for its refined storytelling and technical precision.
Krishnakumari: A solo by Prathibha Ramaswamy, portraying the story of the Rajput princess caught in a struggle for power and destiny.
The festival is part of an ongoing effort to preserve and promote Odissi in Bengaluru, led by Karnataka Kalashree Smt. Sharmila Mukherjee.
