Event Description
Raga Tarang presents Anagha Bhat in a Khayal performance in the traditional Gwalior style, featuring late evening ragas. The concert will feature a selection of night ragas, which are known for their evocative and contemplative qualities, in the traditional Gwalior style.
The Gwalior gharana is one of the oldest and most prominent schools of Hindustani classical music. It is known for its emphasis on melodic richness and emotional expressions, and a comprehensive exploration of ragas.
Anagha Bhat will present some traditional Vilambit compositions and Drut compositions in Ragas Jaijaiwanti (Baageshri Ang) and Malkauns followed by shorter renditions.
She will be accompanied by Meghashyam Keshav on tabla and Surya Upadhyaya on harmonium.
