RS Connect in collaboration with Kabir Project is back with yet another exciting presentation: Begam Des Hamaara – An unbounded Country Synopsis: In song after song, Kabir says – ‘chalo hamara des’, come to my country. It is an invitation to step into a wondrous country unmarked by borders and devoid of pride. At this Sunday’s RS Connect in collaboration with Kabir Project, poet Prashant Parvatneni will reflect on what it means to find that unbounded country, within and without. This is the sixth and final session in collaboration with Kabir Project, a series of presentations called ‘Thinking With Kabir and Other Mystics’ where we explore the spiritual songs of saint-poets like Kabir, Bulleh Shah, Meerabai, and Shah Latif from the folk oral traditions of India. It is an attempt to see these poems as portals, to think about ideas of faith, freedom, and compassion. In a world plagued by oppressive violence, can the musical voice of the mystic nudge us towards more justly imagined futures? About Ranga Shankara Ranga Shankara is the definitive space for quality theatre in Bangalore. Since it opened its doors in October 2004, Ranga Shankara has developed into one of the nerve centres of theatre in India, firmly believing in ‘a play a day’, resulting in over 7000 performances by local, national and international troupes in a range of languages in Ranga Shankara’s 18 years.
