There is wisdom and freedom that comes from pursuing an Indian classical art such as Kathak: mirroring its joy and abandon in one’s personal experiences - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
At this Saturday’s RS Connect, dancers Akruti Shah, Madhushree Kumar and Anusha Naresh from Nrityanidhi, a 17-year-old Kathak institute, will unveil the nuances of this Indian classical dance form, and the reflections of the art form on various aspects of life itself an hour-long lecture demonstration. There will be performances and interactive experiences with the audience that are something to be sought out for on a wonderful Saturday evening.
About the artists: Akruti Shah is one of the first graduates of ‘Nrityanidhi ~ Spiritual Exuberance through Dance’ — a 17-year-old Kathak Institute founded by Shoma Kaikini-Singh, that is dedicated to the education and promotion of Indian Art and Culture around the world. Akruti is now the coordinator and administrator of the institute, after having dedicated almost two decades to the art form. She also handles the troupe and training in two major cities of India - Mumbai and Bangalore.
Madhushree Kumar and Anusha Naresh are Nrityanidhi shishyas and troupe members, who will bring the lecture alive through creative expression and dance.
