This year, Ranga Shankara invests in the theatre community through a series of workshops. Held by masters in their fields, these sessions will help the younger generation hone their craft and connect as a community. Masterclasses for the theatre community will also help seasoned professionals pass down teachings from their knowledge and experience. The workshops range from direction to costume design, acting to lighting, and everything in between. Well known theatre personalities such as Jayoo Patwardhan and Nachiket Patwardhan, Sooraj Nambiar, and Jamil Ahmed have been invited by Ranga Shankara to add value to the craft the theatre community already has. The workshops this year are: 1. Orientation – Understanding Visuals Ravikumar Kashi June 10th 2. Direction – Understanding a Play Dr. Jamil Ahmed June 11th – 16th, 2024 3. Direction – Designing Movements Jonathan Taylor June 17th – 22nd, 2024 4. Direction – Making Scene Dr. Abhilash Pillai June 23rd – 28th, 2024 5. Scene Designing Nachiket Patwardhan June 20th – 24th, 2024 6. Acting – Body and Rhythm Suresh Shetty June 12th – 16th, 2024 7. Acting – Voice Training Sooraj Nambiar June 18th – 22nd, 2024 8. Acting – Improvisation Maya Krishna Rao June 23rd – 28th, 2024 9. Costume Design Jayoo Patwardhan June 21st – 24th, 2024 10. Lighting Design Arghya Lahiri and Niranjan Gokhale June 11th – 17th, 2024 11. Production Management Toral Shah and Vivek Rao June 14th – 18th, 2024 12. Playwriting – Kannada S. Surendranath June 25th – 29th, 2024 Spanning 10th June to 29th June, these workshops will explore all facets of a production and thereby equip the participants with a new set of tools in their backpack.
