With the objective of creating an affordable, locally rooted theatre of high quality, and world-class infrastructure, we have come a long way. Ranga Shankara has acted as a catalyst in the Bengaluru theatre scene. Today, Ranga Shankara is seen as a valuable resource and a symbol of cultural capital. The theatre community across the country, our audience, and Bengaluru’s cultural patrons, engage with it consciously and proudly. Ranga Shankara is a commitment to theatre, to the cultural fabric of India and her people.

About AHA! Theatre for Children Programme

‘Theatre for Children’ holds great importance in the development of a child. It develops an everlasting love of art, and exposes them to questions and scenarios that feed into their ever-expanding curiosity and imagination. It is an investment we make in the future.

Ranga Shankara, is amongst the few institutions in the country that creates and consistently showcases theatre for children. Started in 2006, the AHA! Theatre for Children programme is Ranga Shankara’s most ambitious programme to date, bringing the magic of theatre in all its aspects to children and theatre makers in the country.

By bringing world-class productions from across the country and the globe, Ranga Shankara is laying the foundation for a theatre movement and network for ‘Theatre For Children’ in India.

Ranga Shankara’s AHA! Theatre for Children Festival 2025

This year, the 15th Edition of AHA! Theatre for Children Festival has been scheduled between July 15 to 19, 2025!

The festival is set to become one of the most important Theatre for Children showcases in Bengaluru. It will feature plays from across India — including Ranga Shankara’s brand-new AHA! production Chamak — and an international production from Berlin, Germany.

The plays at this year’s AHA! Festival are connected by themes of self-discovery, courage, imagination, and play.

In Chamak, a child begins to understand herself and the world around her. Saau traces a search for light — a metaphor for finding the courage to step out of fear and silence. Jobless Job turns labels like “jobless” and “useless” on their head, showing how friendship and joy exist beyond work. Everyone Plays brings toddlers into a world of fauna and shared games, where performance and play meet. Harvest continues the conversation with a sensorial journey, using imagination to explore an object and place it in the natural world.

Each play invites children to question, explore, and connect — with themselves, with others, and with the world they live in.

This year's AHA! Theatre for Children Festival will be making its way to one more city in India - Ahmedabad. Double the locations, double the joy!

Year after year, Neekoee Foundation brings Ranga Shankara’s much-loved AHA! Theatre for Children Festival to Ahmedabad — adding another city to the festival’s footprint and doubling the joy for young audiences.
