Event Description

Ranga Shankara's iconic 'Mango Party' dons the digital avatar, with online programmes lined up on 18, 19, and 20 June 2021. The programmes will go live on Ranga Shankara's Facebook and YouTube pages.

The 'Mango Party' celebrates all things mango and is older than the history of Ranga Shankara. To celebrate the event this year, there is a line-up of mango-related videos for audiences to enjoy, spread out over the weekend. Audiences can expect to enjoy a variety of videos such as a tutorial on making delicious 'hasi kette upinkaayi' (cut-mango people) by Chinmayie Bhat of Eat. Food. Love, a walk-through of growing mangoes on farms, mangoes as motifs and tools in the history of Indian art by Neena Parikh, and a fun tutorial for children on creating mango block-prints, with everyday objects at home, by Malavika P C! Other highlights include a tutorial from Angela Sudarshan, the proprietor of Ranga Shankara's Anju's Cafe. Anju will demonstrate how to cook three of her signature mango recipes, including delicacies such as mango paani puri and home-made 'desi' mango mousse, that families can cook together. Renowned Kannada film artiste Sihi Kahi Chandru also joins the party, with a video on the art and fun of relishing different varieties of mangoes!

Videos will premiere at 11 AM and 5 PM on all three days on Ranga Shankara's Facebook and YouTube pages.

"Our mango parties have always seen people from all walks of life come together at Ranga Shankara to celebrate and relish these delicious fruits, bonding over the common love for mangoes. This year, again, the party had to go online, but we have a line-up of fun videos releasing on our pages, and we hope that everyone joins us virtually - with a plate of mangoes ready, of course!", says Arundhati Nag.
